Library visit
I decided to go to the library for the first time since, like, 5th grade. Turns out they have so many non-children books on the upper level!
I digress- I found myself wandering into sections I would never expect, such as politics, mental health, bibliographies, and mental health! I am so excited to expand my horizons and learn some new stuff!
I started reading a Harvard Med's guide to getting a good sleep and I've already learned so much about what I've been doing wrong (aka looking at computer and phone screens for extended amounts of time right before bed).
I also am on about page 40 in Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison. So far, he's elucidated the post-civil rights movement from a young black boy's perspective. It is already laced with the juxtaposition of black and white imagery as he wanders through a "Negro college" he was given a scholarship to from a bunch of successful white men. I'm anxious to see what he meand when he refers to himself as presently being an "invisible man"...
I guess I'll find out!
That's all for now ☺️
¡Adios amigos!
