What's Ahead?

What's Ahead?

My Thoughts on What Next Year Will Be Like

Despite my nervousness for the 13+ hour flight I'll endure from Canada to Switzerland on September 8, I am extremely excited to live in a completely new place. I've always craved adventure, never allowing a dull moment to pass without complaining that I could be doing something more enriching with my time. If this opportunity ahead of me does not satisfy my "travel bug" (as my dad calls it), it will at least open the door to international immersion. I've visited Europe a few times and have traveled plenty, but actually living in Switzerland is going to be a drastically different and more advantageous experience.

Besides the places I'll be visiting with my class—Berlin, Greece, Italy, and Germany, to name a few—I get to take up to three weekend trips per semester wherever I'd like!!!! Well, within reason of course. I'm thinking Barcelona, Croatia, Cannes... oh wow. The possibilities are endless and frankly overwhelming.
Croatia

Barcelona, Spain

Amalfi Coast, Italy
Cannes, France

Traveling is what I'm most excited for, but can we talk about how cool my schedule is? I'm taking:
World History Since the 15th Century
Analyzing Current Economic Issues
Writers Craft
Advanced Functions
Philosophy
Calculus and Vectors
International Business
English

I cannot wait. What a perfect way to explore new subjects and investgate possible majors for when I go to university!

Now we cannot forget to talk about fashion. As a California girl, I've never gotten to truly wear adorable winter clothes and get away with it. And UGGs definitely do not count. I'm talking about a matching mittens, scarf and beanie set; a classic peacoat; a furry-hooded parka; and something I always dreamed of having: bean boots! Of course, I'm sure the freezing cold weather in the dead of winter is not as glamorous as it seems, but at least I will look cute and bundled up in my Instagram photos (especially with the Arc du Triumph, the Berlin Wall, or the beautiful Swiss Alps in the background)!

Anyway that's all for now! I'll be sure to post on the day I leave for Switzerland.

Until then, au revoir!
